I. Objectives

Membrane separation technology enjoys a wide array of applications. In an era marked by water scarcity, growing environmental awareness, and urgent medical needs, the development of new membrane applications has driven the creation of innovative membrane materials, alongside continuous R&D investments in membrane science. Due to its broad applications—ranging from water resource development and renewable energy generation to environmental protection and healthcare—membrane technology has emerged as a key global industry in the 21st century.

To accelerate the development of high-value membrane applications in Taiwan and establish the membrane separation and purification industry as a vital high-value sector, advancing membrane R&D is an urgent priority. To cultivate fresh talent with independent R&D capabilities, the R&D Center for Membrane Technology at Chung Yuan Christian University has hosted the National Student Membrane Preparation Training & Competition for nine consecutive years since 2016. Through this event, students are introduced to basic membrane concepts and practical fabrication techniques, inspiring them to join the membrane technology industry.

To sustain the growth of membrane science, develop key fabrication technologies, and nurture new talent, we are hosting the 10th National Student Membrane Preparation Competition. We warmly invite students from colleges and universities across Taiwan to participate and contribute to the sustainable growth of functional membrane fabrication technology.

VI. Rankings & Awards

To encourage student participation, scores will be evaluated based on practical membrane fabrication techniques and membrane performance test results. Winners will receive scholarships and certificates of merit.

VII. Judging Criteria

• Practical membrane fabrication techniques and separation performance.

• Membrane Performance: Evaluated based on Permeate Flux and Dye Rejection Rate.
