International Exchange

The CMT promotes international exchanges by executing bilateral research projects, sharing equipment resources, personnel exchanges (seminar, mutual visits, research activities), signing memorandum of understanding (MOU) or agreement of scientific cooperation, and hosting international conferences. Since the establishment of CMT, we hosted five conferences, one membrane forum, three workshops and several technical talks. More than twenty masters and experts in the membrane field have been invited to share their researches and experiences. During the past six years, the CMT has established links with 13 research institutes from 8 countries. More than sixty scientists including professors, researchers and graduates around the world visited the center. The CMT has signed a memorandum of understanding with three renowned institutes in US and France. Four international bilateral research projects have been approved and two of them are under executing. Furthermore, the CMT has continued to make progress in participating in the international organization activities by pursuing major academic positions in the international organization and by hosting international conferences. The Director, Chair Prof. J.Y. Lai, has been invited as the scientific committee member of ICOM 2005 and was invited as the editorial board member of the Journal of Membrane Science since 2007. Deputy Director, Prof. K.-L. Tung, was elected as the management committee member of the specialist group of membrane technology in International Water Association (IWA) and was invited as the scientific committee member of 2008 WFC10 and also invited as the editorial board member of the Filtration journal. In pursuing the host of international conferences, the CMT has won to host the 4th Conference of Aseanian Membrane Society in 2007. In the efforts of promoting international exchanges, the CMT has established a number of close ties with research institutes in America, Asia, Australia and Europe. The links include:
